The Safety 88 Class-2 is the first Reno Police recruits to be completely trained through the High Sierra Law Enforcement Academy affiliated with the Truckee Meadows Community College. Another group of 25 aspiring officers will start the 12-week training course in early January 1989. The academy is based at Truckee Meadows Community College.
